Cerro Catedral Bariloche

It is the most important population in the area of entry to the Patagonia region. It’s near the border with Chile, on the shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi and surrounded by the National Park of the same name.

In addition to its natural resources, Bariloche also in a very place visited by athletes to practice skiing. In fact, the Cathedral Hill, 15 kilometers from Bariloche, is considered the best area to practice these sports in all of South America and has one of the most important ski resorts in the world.

There are also small cruises that run along the great lake and depart from the north shore of Bariloche; Museums such as Havanna Chocolate; splendid temples like the Cathedral of Our Lady of Nahuel Huapi or large shopping centers like Shopping Patagonia.

The most tourist area that we recommend is Avenida 12 de Octubre, next to the river coast.

Mount fitz roy

The area is equipped to have magnificent views of the glacier. There is also a road (11) that runs along the northern limit of it and in the neighboring town of El Calafate there is a small airport and bus station.

Without a doubt, the ideal time to visit the Perito Moreno Glacier is during the thaw season, when you can witness the collapse of gigantic ice masses. There are also areas of the glacier that can be walked on foot.

Fire land

Ushuaia Patagonia

The last place we want to recommend is the region called Tierra de Fuego, the southernmost part of Patagonia and all of it is a great archipelago composed of large islands between Chile and Argentina.

In this area is the Strait of Magellan, where the Portuguese sailor reached the Pacific Ocean. The whole strait belongs to Chile, although further south there is another strait: the Beagle Channel. This was discovered in the 19th century by an English expedition and on whose main ship Charles Darwin was traveling.

Just north and south of the canal are the southernmost populations in the world, and the one we recommend you visit is Ushuaia, with international airport. There you will find the Museum of the End of the World; a train of the same name that runs through the area; the Martial Glacier, a few kilometers northwest; part of the Tierra del Fuego National Park and good tourist resources in a quiet city at the foot of the mountains.
