CloserStill buys eShow – Marketing 4 Ecommerce

The conference and exhibition organizer CloserStill Media has acquired the annual eShow Barcelona and Madrid fairs to eWorld, for an undisclosed amount, in an operation that marks its entry into the Spanish market. The eShows are the main events of conferences and exhibitions in Spain dedicated to the e-commerce and Retail sectors.

With this operation CloserStill, which was already organizing the e-Commerce Expo events in London and Singapore, expands its portfolio of fairs internationally, which includes events in London, Paris, Frankfurt, Singapore and Hong Kong, which are attended annually by more than 75,000 delegates with more than 900 exhibitors.

In addition to the eShows, CloserStill has also acquired the One to One eForums events, which are held every year in spring and autumn, and that host for two days different activities with the largest e-commerce and retail leaders in Spain.

The eWorld team will be integrated into CloserStill Media

This operation will involve the creation of a new company in Spain with Agustin Torres in front. Torres held, until now, the position of General Director of eWorld and will incorporate his current team to CloserStill Media Technology in Barcelona.

Speaking to us, Torres explained:

«CloserStill Media is one of the organizers of fairs that has grown most internationally in recent years. This operation will facilitate having more marketing resources, better speakers, content … Do not forget that they are the organizers, among others, of Ecommerce Expo London and Ecommerce Expo Singapore. And the United Kingdom is the second largest eCommerce market worldwide. What you can give us is very much. We hope you will notice the change in the October edition in Madrid, with the arrival of 2 or 3 powerful international speakers and other news.

This is a very exciting time for eShow. This alliance with CloserStill empowers eShows to connect with a wider and global community in new and exciting ways. We will be able to contribute more international perspectives to the conversations we have and highlight the solutions from around the world that our online and retail commerce community can learn. Connecting with the CloserStill technology network will allow our events in Spain to provide even more support to our delegates to grow in their professions and in their expansion ».

For its part, Sophie Baker-Davis, Director of the CloserStill technology portfolio, has stated:"We are excited about the opportunities in the Spanish market. The online and retail trade sector is betting strongly in Spain. We are delighted to work with Agustín and his team and we hope to invest with him to accelerate the growth and importance of eShows in the eCommerce sector and integrate them into our international network of technology and electronic commerce ».

CloserStill plans to expand its portfolio of technology events in Spain con a deployment of its international technology brands from 2020. The next event for the British company will be the eShow Madrid 2019 (October 29 and 30), which will be held at IFEMA, which had in its last edition more than 10,500 visitors and 130 exhibitors. The eShow events also host each edition the delivery of the eAwards, the awards to the best eCommerces and agencies in the country.
