Chefs will promote the gastronomy of the Valencian Community in The Hague in the event "A gastronomic experience five stars"

CONHOSTUR participates for the second year in an international promotion action to give value to Valencian cuisine on the occasion of World Cup Day.

Valencia, June 26, 2019. Turisme Comunitat Valenciana and the Business Confederation of Hospitality and Tourism of the Valencian Community (CONHOSTUR) celebrate tomorrow in The Hague "A gastronomic experience five stars", destination promotion action of the Valencian Community, organized in collaboration with the Spanish Office of Tourism in The Hague.

The promotion event will be held at the residence of the Spanish Ambassador in The Hague and will serve to publicize the territory and cuisine of the Valencian Community by Ricard Camarena (2 Michelin stars – Ricard Camarena Restaurant), Susi Díaz ( 1 Star – La Finca – Elx, Alicante), Miguel Barrera (1 Star – Cal Paradís Restaurant – Vall d'Alba, Castellón), Bernd Knöller (1 Star – Riff Valencia), and Torrevieja Chef Jose Luis Cases, winner of the II Contest for the Best Tapa Madeincv, organized at the CdT of Valencia on the occasion of the "Madeincv Tapas Route". The chefs will be accompanied at the event by the Head of the Yvonne Arcidiacono Hall of the Apicius restaurant in Valencia (1 Sol Repsol).

At the event, aimed at prescribers of the Dutch market, travel agencies, tour operators, media and specialized magazines, each chef will present two tapas made with Valencian product that the public can enjoy in a tasting cocktail.

In the presentation, in addition to representatives of the Autonomous Secretariat of Tourism and CONHOSTUR, will participate the Spanish ambassador in Holland, Maria Jesus Alonso Jimenez, and the director of the Ministry of Tourism in The Hague, Ana María Román Riechmann.

It is a promotional action, organized by Turisme Comunitat Valenciana in collaboration with the sector, through the Business Confederation of Hospitality and Tourism of the Valencian Community, within the framework of the agreement signed to promote gastronomic tourism and the L'EXQUISIT brand MEDITERRANI, and with the Tourism Office of Spain in The Hague, within the Operational Plan 2019 of Turespaña and the actions to celebrate the "World Day of the Top".

For its part, the regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer, stressed the importance of "supporting the positioning of the gastronomic tourism product and the values ​​of our brand L'Exquisit Mediterrani from the collective work in network with the sector, hand in hand of our kitchen professionals and counting on Turespaña and the work of the Network of Tourism Councils for the positioning of the Valencian Community in foreign markets, as in this case the Netherlands ".

It should be noted that in 2018 Holland was the fourth country to issue international tourism in the Valencian Community – after the United Kingdom, France and the Nordic countries – and the second in hotel overnight stays. In fact, about 650,000 Dutch visited the Comunitat Valenciana – 9.5% more than in 2017-. In addition, the Dutch customer brings deseasonalization to tourism demand: 3 out of 4 Dutch people who traveled to the Comunitat Valenciana in 2018 did so outside of the months of July and August.

The Comunitat Valenciana is a very attractive destination for the Dutch market. In some of our tourist destinations, such as the city of Valencia, it is the second international market. In addition, it is a customer with a purchasing power that results in a high average daily expenditure – situated at around € 100 in 2018, the 3rd after Italy and the United Kingdom – and that values ​​quality, healthy and Mediterranean cuisine such as which is capable of offering our territory and its kitchen professionals.
