Apple's iPhone XR was the cheapest iPhone 2018, and yet it outperformed the XS and XS Max in a couple of things. One was the number of color options and the other was the battery duration.
Now a new report says that the iPhone XR 2 (or iPhone XIR, 11r – they all sound just as uncomfortable, actually) will have even better battery life. It says that the successor of the iPhone XR will have a 3.110mAh battery – an increase of 5% over the 2.942mAh of the iPhone XR.
The report reveals that Chinese Amperex Technology Limited (ATL) has been granted the order of batteries for the iPhone XR 2. It is the same ATL that took over orders for Galaxy Note7 batteries after it was discovered that the original SDI batteries caused a fire in the phones.
If we combine a larger battery with the expected chipset Apple A13 7 nm second generation more efficient, we could be facing a hole in what was already a solid battery life. In tests conducted by users the iPhone XR was able to support about 15 hours of video playback already, so we expect great things from its successor.
